Event - Co-Operative Play
Greetings Commanders,
For our December Event we released two new features, the first was checkpoint prizes which allowed us to pay out prizes over the course of a Tier. This feature allowed us to give out rewards to players during the Tier who might not be able to complete all of Tiers B or A. Due to the nature of our game, we wanted to make sure players played through the event in the correct order and earned the correct prize for their efforts. This led us to implementing our second feature, linearity enforcement.
During the Event we heard a lot of feedback on linearity removing co-operative play. We heard your comments and have revisited parts of linearity for this January event (Jan 21 at 9AM PST) by enabling co-op for event bases. However in order to keep the integrity of our checkpoint prize feature, players who attack targets that are not part of their current event tier's path will receive the below pop-up.
This pop-up will still allow you to attack the target and assist your friends. However, you will not receive mission credit for the mission or XP rewards for defeating the base. This should be a non-issue as co-op means that you cleared out most of the base for another player, therefore you aren't the player defeating the base. We wanted to give you a heads up about the pop-up before the event started as part of our ongoing process of improving our communication to our players.
